The most important part in any 8mm or Super 8 film transfer is the initial scan of the 8mm film. If the initial film scan was done with a projector and camcorder or frame by frame machine, the image is not going to truly represent the film. In some cases it might only get 40% to 60% of the image quality. In fact if you had your 8mm film converted to VHS years ago and can still watch your film on a projector you need to compare the two side by side. You'll see that the VHS is a very poor copy of the 8mm film. It will only have about 40-50% of the quality of the 8mm film. So, If you really want to archive your 8mm film, our professional 8mm film transfer machines will certainly meet your needs. We can scan 8mm or Super 8 film up to 4K (3112) lines of resolution. You wont find any other company offering a 4K scan of your 8mm or Super 8 film. So, if you want the best, look no further.

4K Film Tranfer Equipment: Better Quality, No Damage
The average age of film is 55 years old. Film shrinks as it ages just like you and me. The sprocket holes on the side are about 1mm closer then they were 55 years ago. This means it can't be played through a projector or transfered on an inexpenisve film transfer machine used by the big box stores and most local shops. It will damge the film to the point where it can't be scanned even on our professional scanner like our Pro HD and Pro 2K machines. Our professional scanners don't use the sprocket holes to move the film through the machines. They use lasers or optical recognition to know when to scan each frame. So, not only is the qualty 2-3 times better, our professional mahcines won't damage your film either!
Transferring movie film to DVD (and other digital video formats) can be an expensive undertaking. But remember, we're talking about preserving priceless memories that cannot be replaced.

Video and Film Conversion Customer Reviews
"I sent in a dozen reels of Super 8 family movies from the 1950s through 1960s. You can find cheaper places, but you will get what you pay for. They charge fairly and offer absolutely 1st rate service, not only in conversion but customer service as well. I can't recommend them highly enough. I have another box of my late dad's films that pre-date me heading off to them shortly. Repeat business is the best endorsement." -Mike
"I checked with 4 other companies before deciding on Film Transfer Company for a very important historical conversion. Brad did an outstanding job handling all the conversions I requested. The judgment he used in the conversion that required some 'art' on his part was perfect. Just fantastic...could not be happier" -D. T.
"I've used this company twice, and couldn't be more pleased with the results. The 8 mm film I sent them was old - 40 years old & 68 years old, and kept in extreme heat & cold for much of that time. The finished dvds were better than the original! Customer service was excellent, & turn around time very quick." -Paula
"I had a collection of more than fifty 8-mm home movies dating back to 1964 that needed to be digitized. Brad was very helpful in explaining the options for color correction, grain removal, image stabilization, and output file format and helping me choose the best ones for my situation. The result was a set of streaming video files that look great, can be played back on any PC or smart TV, and can be made to last essentially forever with proper file management. I was able to copy the files and share them with family members. I couldn't be happier with the experience." -Douglas
" have used Film Transfer Company numerous times for 8MM film to BlueRay conversion. The quality of their work, and customer service, is excellent. They have an order and follow through process which provides the highest level of confidence when your valuable originals are "in play". I would recommend them to anyone without hesitation. This IS the place to trust with your cherished memories" - Jeffrey B
"Film Transfer Company are the best! The owner, spoke with me directly, gave me complimentary guidance and delivered a finished product that far exceeded any of my dreams! In addition to being highly professional, They showed compassion towards my situation. My mother has Alzheimers, and without his dedication and expertise we never would have enjoyed watching beautiful DVDs of restored 8MM family films taken almost 60 years ago which were damaged over the years from dampness. Many of our forgotten memories were restored to life." - Barry F.
